Our program is crafted in collaboration with Ontario’s Leading Canine Behaviourist, ensuring that our Family Manners and Obedience trainers are industry leaders. We emphasize Positive Reinforcement and DO NOT USE aversive tools or techniques. NO SHOCK COLLARS (E-collars)!!
Building Bonds Through Positive Reinforcement
With our Pawsitive Pet Behaviour and Training, we focus on creating a closer bond between you and your dog. Dogs naturally want to please their owners, and we teach them how to do that in a positive way. We are fully committed to the Association of Professional Dog Trainers’ LIMA (Least Invasive, Minimally Aversive) statement, ensuring that everything we do is in the best interest of your dog.
Thorough Assessment
We begin with a comprehensive two-day assessment of your dog’s current knowledge and learning abilities. We identify what motivates your dog, as aversive tools like E-collars are not true motivators but deterrents. Our approach avoids these tools, which should only be used by accredited Canine Behaviourists due to the potential risks and unwanted behavioural issues they can cause.
Bespoke Training Plan
After the assessment, we collaborate with you to set goals for your dog’s training. We then develop a tailored training plan for their “working vacation” with us. The duration of their stay depends on your dog’s learning curve and your objectives.
Comprehensive Care and Continuous Reinforcement
During their stay, your dog will enjoy multiple training sessions per day with our expert trainers. Outside of training sessions, they will be pampered and loved by our caregivers, who are also trained in family manners obedience. Caregivers receive updates after each training session to ensure that every interaction reinforces the positive behaviours your dog is learning.
Transitioning Training to Home
At the end of their stay, we schedule a transfer session with your family. During this session, your dog will demonstrate what they’ve learned, and we will teach you how to elicit these behaviours at home.
